A Keetmanshoop family was left with nothing but ashes of what they used to call home after an unknown person set their shacks on fire, completely destroying eight of them.
The shacks, which included a cuca shop at the same plot, were burned to ashes, along with furniture and other property valued at N$70 000, after the fire engulfed the shacks in the wee hours of Saturday.
//Karas police confirmed the incident happened around 01h00, and it’s alleged that the fire was started by a person who is yet to be identified.
Although no lives were lost and no persons injured, the family lost everything in the fire according to witnesses.
Some residents New Era spoke to indicated that the owner suspects that a fellow resident might be responsible for the incident, after the two had a heated argument earlier on.
No one is yet to be arrested in connection with the arson and police investigations continue
