Our Star of the Week is Gabriel Sinimbo, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development. Sinimbo stood out this week because of his exceptional leadership abilities displayed before and during the Invest in Namibia Conference that took place in Windhoek on Tuesday and Wednesday. The conference has been hailed as a huge success and attracted more than three times the initial number of participants initially expected. More than 1 800 people attended the two-day conference; two Memorandums of Understanding were signed and a N$3.4 billion deal was sealed. While the conference was the brainchild of President Hage Geingob and hundreds of government staff were involved, Sinimbo stood out because of the professionalism exhibited with local and international investors and due to the fact that he relentlessly promoted the conference in both local and international media, all this while dealing with all the logistics involved in such a colossal event.
