If all the hype and glamour of the past few days is anything to go by, then local football fans should expect a crackerjack affair when African Stars confront Tigers in tomorrow’s Standard Bank Super Cup final at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.

In this week’s media conference in the capital, African Stars’ stand-in captain, Denis Tjetjinda, promised nothing but fireworks when the two Katutura giants meet, saying they are well prepared for the challenge.

“They (Tigers) are a fantastic team, but come Saturday we will retain the Super Cup. Our fans should come out in numbers and colour the stadium. As usual, we want to win this for them. On behalf of the entire team, I can confidently tell you that we’re ready for Tigers and it’s not going to be easy for anyone,” he said.

On his part, Tigers’ vice-captain, Ferdinand Karongee, was equally confident of his team’s chances going into tomorrow’s clash, cautioning Stars not to take anything for granted in tomorrow’s match.

“We’re playing to win this Cup. We trained well and want to make our fans happy. They must come to cheer us on. I also want to thank the Namibia Football Association and Standard Bank for this great opportunity,” said a confident Karongee.

Tickets for the 2016 Standard Bank Super Cup are available for N$30 each at Computicket at Shoprite and Checkers stores countrywide, as well as Football House in Katutura. The match starts at 16h00 on Saturday.

Award-winning musician Gazza is scheduled to provide entertainment to the fans.
