NSC makes headway in drafting Sports Bill

Windhoek

Following the successful hosting of a Sport Act Review Consultative Workshop, at Out of Africa Lodge in Otjowarongo last week, the National Sports Commission (NSC) has put its ducks in the row.

NSC says it has reached a significant step in its endeavour to adopt the Draft Sports Act that would usher Namibian sports into a new era.

As per the Commission’s previous workshop resolution, NSC will host a follow-up workshop on the Namibia Sports Act review at which stakeholders who contributed to last week’s workshop that dealt with amendments will gather again to deliberate and advise the Commission on how to come up with a Draft Bill.

The envisaged three-day workshop is slated for 9th of this month and will either be held at the Hardap Dam Resort outside Mariental (Hardap Region) or Gross Barmen Resort near Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa Region.

Programme and workshop documents will be forwarded by the 5 September. Delegates are requested to forward their contact details and RSVP by SMS to 0812164454 by Monday 5 September.

The NSC Secretariat is yet to confirm the venue, subject to availability of accommodation at both resorts.
