The Franco-Namibia Cultural Centre (FNCC)’s French Department will be hosting a Spelling Bee Competition and Dictation at the FNCC Gallery on Saturday.
FNCC’s communication officer, Alexandrine Guinot, says the competition is going to be between the FNCC French Department’s students and learners from schools that offer French classes, such as Windhoek Central Primary School, Tanben College S and Combretum School.
The competition will be in two categories: the first category is for primary level French learners and the second for middle and secondary level learners.
Guinot adds that learners are going to compete in teams. “There will be a mini-show for children to show their talent. It’s going to be so much fun and a good occasion for all to learn French in a fun way,” she says.
“All learners that are interested in learning French and that just want to have fun are all invited to witness what the FNCC French Department do,” says Guinot.
One of the objectives of the FNCC over the last 25 years has been to establish the Francophonie as one of its pillars. The competition starts at 09h00 and lasts until 12h00. Entrance is free.
