Kornelia Kashiimbindjola Shilunga was born on May 25, 1970.

Legislative Profile

She has been a member of the National Assembly since 2015 and will serve as a Swapo Party parliamentarian until 2020. Currently she is the deputy minister of Mines and Energy.



Education

Shilunga holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) from the University of Namibia; ISS from Netherlands; Master’s in Business Administration from the Easternand Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI); Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Education and Community Health from the University of Namibia; and a Diploma in Nursing Sciences, also from Unam. She matriculated at Gabriel Taapopi Senior Secondary School in Ongwediva.

Career

Entrepreneur (2008–2014); Senior Chief Community Liaison Officer Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare (2000–2008); Chairperson of the Advisory Committee of Skill-Share International in Namibia, (2003–2005); Member of the Women and Child Protection Unit Committee in Oshana Region (2002–2006); Member of the Prisons Zonal Release Board; Member of the Oshana Regional Coordinating Committee (RDCC), (2004–2007); Teacher (1990); Registered Nurse (1991–1997); Liaison Officer in the Office of the President in the Department of Women’s Affairs (1997–2000).
