Seaflower Ocean Swallows Rugby Club kicked off their 2016 Southern Stream first division league campaign with a convincing 37-12 victory against Oranjemund Rugby Club at the Lüderitz Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Swallows secretary Neil Andrews said the game was played in good spirits and his boys responded well to the task at hand. They look forward to the next round of matches with hope and determination.
Swallows’ next game will be at Rosh Pinah, where they will lock horns with the equally dangerous Rosh Pinah Rugby Club on April 30.
Last year Swallows finished in third position overall in the league, but Andrews has made it clear that this year’s plan is to emerge as winners come end of the season.
Andrews applauded the Seaflower Group of Companies for their sponsorship and commended the club’s supporters for tirelessly rallying behind the boys when it matters most.
