Reigning Commonwealth lightweight champion Richard Oblitey Commey is determined to claim the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title against a yet to be named opponent in an IBF final eliminator bout next January.
Commey won all his last four bouts in 2015 and is pushing hard to rule the lightweight division with a world title bout.
The 28-year-old Commey beat Kakhabir Avetisian in October in Germany, a fight which propelled him on the IBF ratings and close to a world title.
The medal hopeful who fights under Streetwise Promotions is confident of breaking Ghana’s title drought, his manager Michael Amoo Bediako told Starr Sports.
“Richard has a possible bout in Germany in January and we believe in him and before that he will be holding an exhibition bout to toughen him ahead of the title bout,” he said.
