Fish for life…

Namsov Fishing Enterprises through Namsov Community Trust yesterday handed a last consignment of canned horse mackerel to the Ministry of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare, bringing the total to 64 824 cans of fish worth N$500 000 delivered by the company to the ministry towards its poverty eradication efforts. Receiving the donation the Deputy Minister of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare Priscilla Boois thanked the organisation on behalf of the government and said the drought has not only affected food production, but also water provision and livestock conditions and marketing, resulting in more money needed to address all sectors affected. Here Jamilla Jacobs (second from left) who is the coordinator of Namsov Community Trust hands a nine-pack of canned fish to Boois, while Japhet Itenge, the Director of Disaster Risk Management, and Deputy Minister Christine //Hoebes in the Office of the Prime Minister show off some of the donation.
