FIAT has unveiled the all-new FIAT Fullback bakkie which would only be available in southern Africa in mid-2016. The vehicle, launched at the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show, is a medium-duty pick-up that would be available as a single-cab or double-cab body.
The Fullback line-up would include Single-Cab with a 4×2 drivetrain and Double-Cab with 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrains.
The Fullback is FIAT’s first contender in the medium-duty pick-up truck segment.
All versions of the Fullback have a maximum height of 1,780 mm and are up to 1,815 mm wide with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The length varies depending on the configuration – 5,155 mm for Single Cab and 5,285 mm for Double Cab. Also the length of the cargo compartment changes – 2,265 mm for Single Cab and 1,520 mm for Double Cab. The payload capacity, according to the configuration, comes up 1,100 kg.
Locally the Fullback pick-up truck will be available with two engine options – a 2.5-litre diesel with a power output of between 100kW or 131kW and a 2.4-litre petrol engine that delivers 97kW. All engines feature five-speed manual transmissions.
Visitors to the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show will also be able to see the FIAT Fullback equipped with a selection of special accessories currently under development by Mopar, FIAT Chrysler Automobiles’ brand for after-sales service, customer care, genuine spare parts and accessories.
All Fiat Professional products are sold and serviced through selected Fiat dealerships countrywide.
