FNB Namibia has welcomed Tami Awases as the new finance manager for management accounting and congratulated Herman Shilongo, who has been promoted to manager of financial accounting services.
Awases joined FNB Namibia on October 1 and will be responsible for the financial and reporting systems to all stakeholders of the FNB Group, while maintaining an efficient reporting department. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting Degree from the University of Namibia (UNAM) and completed her audit articles with PKF (Namibia) Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors in January 2014, where she received a Certificate of Competence from the Public Accountants’ and Auditors’ Board.
She completed her qualification exams and is a registered Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants Namibia (NIPA) member. “To treat every customer’s pay cheque as if it were my own, as every customer is important,” she says.
Meanwhile, Shilongo’s new position as manager of financial accounting services involves relieving the chief financial officer from day-to-day tax admin work, managing FNB Group tax risk and providing technical opinions on income tax and Value Added Tax implications.
His qualifications include B. Accounting, post-graduate diploma in Accounting (CTA); H. Dip Tax (Unisa). He is awaiting thesis results and he is currently preparing for the SAICA final qualifying exam 2 (FQE2). He aims “to always listen and understand the client’s needs before imposing solutions on them.”
