Minister of Urban and Rural Development Sophia Shaningwa on Monday inaugurated the N$8 million administrative office for Khomasdal constituency. Shaningwa said the government’s decentralisation policy of 1997 has two main objectives, namely, to ensure public participation as well as improve service delivery. She indicated that the expansion of constituency offices countrywide is high on the agenda of her ministry. The office is situated in the residential area of Otjomuise 3, on the corner of Bonn and Ankara streets. Constituency Councillor Margret Mensah-Williams, who is also the vice-chairperson of the National Council, said the double-storey office complex is furnished with a library, a computer laboratory and a hall for study purposes.
