Johnny Clegg, one of South Africa’s most versatile and prolific performers and an internationally-acclaimed artist, is returning to the Warehouse Theatre for one exclusive acoustic performance with his four piece band on Saturday, September 19.
Johnny Clegg has wowed audiences with his live shows and won a number of national and international awards for his music and for his outspoken views on apartheid and migrant workers in South Africa. Over his 30 year career, Johnny has released two dozen albums, the most recent of which is Johnny Clegg Best, Live and Unplugged, in 2014, which was recorded at his sold out show at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town in September 2013.
Following on from the success of his Eastern Cape and Baxter Theatre shows from 2013, Johnny will be bringing this show with his four piece acoustic band to the Warehouse Theatre in Windhoek for the second time for one night only on 19 September 2015.
The audience can expect an intimate show, which includes storytelling by Johnny Clegg, where he talks about the events in his life and political history of South Africa and the world at that time that motivated him to write a specific song. It is a personal journey, which is uplifting, moving and also humorous at times. Entrance is N$695 and limited tickets (250) are available online at www.staytoday.com.na/events and at the Warehouse Theatre. This concert is proudly sponsored by Old Mutual Namibia.
