Vigo introduces new flavour

Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) recently launched an interesting new Vigo flavour, Kiwano, also known as the African horned cucumber.

According to Ndapandula Hatuikulipi, NBL’s Brand Manager Marketing for Vigo and Heineken, “Vigo made headways two years ago, when it launched with Wild Orange and Marula… The new Kiwano flavour was chosen after extensive research was conducted amongst the Vigo target consumers.”

The Kiwano fruit is an oval-shaped melon, with hard orange skin and little horns. It is a member of the melon and cucumber family and contains green edible jelly seeds,” Hatuikulipi explained.

She added that the objective of the new variant was to remain relevant to current Vigo consumers and to access a wider consumer range. Thus far, the new variant has exceeded performance expectations and has delivered positive results in all areas, she said.
