A 24-year-old woman appeared in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court yesterday after an incident in which she allegdly hacked her daughter with an axe.
The suspect who at the time of the incident was under the influence of alcohol slashed the head of her five-year-old daughter.
The suspect Agnes Kapango Muronga, 24, was arrested by the Mukwe police at Mukongotji village in Kavango East Region on Thursday evening last week.

She did that horrible act after the minor fought with another kid.”
“Yes she was arrested and detained for drunkenness to sober up and later charged with assault with the intent to do grevious body harm,” said Detective Chief Inspector Kavara.
The suspect appeared before magistrate Barry Mufana while Selma Amadhila prosecuted.
The case was postponed to July 15 for further police investigations and to enable the suspect to apply for legal aid.
She was released on bail of N$1 000.
