WINDHOEK– It is every young person’s dream to graduate with flying colours, wear that academic regalia and receive that reward for their hard work and sleepless nights.
This is the inspiration with which Standard Bank Namibia recently rewarded Polytechnic of Namibia graduates for excelling in their tertiary studies with an overall sponsorship of N$10 000 at the institution’s 20th awards ceremony held in Windhoek last Wednesday. The three recipients are Jean-Pierre Dushimire 3rd Year Best student in Bachelor of Marketing with a cash prize of N$3 400, Teopolina Hamukoto 3rd Year Best student in Bachelor of Transport Management receiving N$3 300 and Peneyambeko Shilomboleni 3rd Year Best student in Bachelor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management walking away with N$3 300.
“Rewarding academic excellence is part of our corporate social investment as it encourages young people to strive for reaching the top and at the same time become high flyers in the corporate world,” says Surihe Gaomas-Guchu SBN’s Public Relations (PR) and Communications Manager. This year’s Polytechnic graduation ceremony was held under the theme: “Excellence in the 21st Century” with the newly appointed Attorney General Sackey Shanghala the keynote speaker.
