WINDHOEK– Local songbird Martha Namundjebo, popularly known by her stage name of Lady May is back with the release of her latest album Crazy Desires, this evening at the Oshikango Country Lodge in Ohangwena Region followed by an after party the next day at the same venue .
The singer was the subject of all mouths after her disreputable ‘goodnight mother****’ and middle-finger gesture at the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) in 2011 but yet again she managed to warm herself back the hearts of fans across the continent when she represented the country at last year’s Big Brother Africa (BBA) StarGame reality show.
The award winning singer might have been notoriously absent from the public eye ever since she was evicted from the game but rest assured, it looks like the songbird was preparing for a new album. Lady May describes her new album as something different with a combination of different genres. “I took my time on this album. I wanted to make it perfect. Crazy Desires consist of different dreams we want to accomplish as artists put in one. It’s has a mixture of Rock, a genre I haven’t done before, Reggae, House and Pop flavour,” says Lady May.
Her 13-track album features local RnB artist Bertholdt Mbinda, and she has also worked with both local and South African producers such as Giggs, Staxx, Elvo, Mposer, Boss (SA) and DJ Kboz. “This album is diverse because I’ve worked with different producers. You wouldn’t want to miss this. I am going to bring the house down,” she says. Lady May will share the stage at the launch with fellow artists such as Mushe, Blossom, Uno-Boy, Stella, D-naff, Bertholdt and many more.
If you are familiar with Lady May’s previous performances, than you can surely expect something memorable. Both events will start at 19h00 and entrance fee is N$50 for each. Her album and many other local artists’ albums as well as T-shirts, etc. will be available for sale at affordable prices at the venue. The Album was made possible by Great Wings Promotions and Millennium Investments Holdings.
