Sorry Ngo! – Jetting into Blantyre

THE time is 18h09 sharp. I am hovering above electricity-deprived Chileka International Airport, in a leased cargo air carrier, after Air Malawi 737 could not make it for connection.

Actually, before that, I had heard about African airlines and safety. Even though I have never heard of a plummeted Malawian aircraft, I could not help but think about it, outrageously. The landing was not perfect but what do you expect from a cargo carrier. After all, they are not used to carrying people, so for them any landing you can walk away from is a happy landing.

All sorts of thoughts were running through my head. How are the people here?

Have they ever heard of Ch?
