The Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT)’s Northern Campus resumed its training activities last week.
The facilities had been dormant for 11 years since Tsumeb Corporation Limited, now known as Ongopolo Mining and Processing, closed down its operations in the 1990s.
The new management has revamped the facilities to cater for 64 young Namibians in the areas of boiler-making/welding, diesel and petrol mechanics, electrical, fitting and turning.
