Bank Windhoek Employees Graduate


By Staff Reporter WINDHOEK On June 28, 2007, scholars from the banking industry as well as parastatals and government offices were bestowed with certificates from the Institute of Bankers (IOB) during a graduation ceremony in Windhoek. A total of 53 candidates from various industries graduated. Riana Mostert from Bank Windhoek received the President’s Award, which honours the highest aggregate marks in the Associate Diploma, as well as an award which honours the highest aggregate marks in the Advanced Credit Diploma. Jana Maritz, also from Bank Windhoek, received the highest aggregate marks in Namibian Business Accounting. During the ceremony, James Hill, Managing Director of Bank Windhoek, reiterated the Bank’s commitment to staff development. He said: “The development of our staff’s knowledge, skills and abilities forms a vital part of the Bank’s overall business strategy. “The IOB programme, amongst others, ensures that Bank Windhoek has sufficient skills and talent that enables the Bank to meet the challenges of a growing banking industry.” Fillimon Ngairo, Manager at the Learning and Development Centre at Bank Windhoek, added: “Bank Windhoek is proud to see its employees take top honours in the Banking Financial Services Certificate and Financial Services Diploma in Marketing. At Bank Windhoek we relentlessly endeavour to cultivate a culture of learning and to empower our people.”
