WINDHOEK - The Namibia Rugby Referee Society (NRRS) got a shot in the arm through a sponsorship of N$50 000 from FNB Namibia ahead of the upcoming rugby season, which gets underway in May to August 2013.

FNB Namibia at the same time pledged its commitment for a three-year period from 2013 to 2016, while the NRRS also received a one-off donation of N$90 000 for their playing gear.

FNB Namibia Manager Sponsorships and Donations Ingrid Goeieman said the commitment towards the NRRS will go a long way in supporting referees.

“This annual sponsorship will be a reward for referees in school rugby. FNB Namibia is a great supporter of sports, especially at school and development level and we are glad to be able to make an impact with our sponsorship.”

Jacky Husselmann from the NRRS applauded the gesture by FNB Namibia and said the financial assistance is highly appreciated and thanked them for their willingness to continue their sponsorship of local rugby referees.
