Bikers from all over Namibia turned up in their droves, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the annual Live to Ride ‘Big 5’ biker bash, which attracted a larger than usual crowd over the wee-end.
Over a dozen bikes from Gauteng and the Harley Davidson Club in Cape Town were amongst the many different clubs represented countrywide, who joined in the non stop fun held at the Harmony Lodge from 31 August to 2 September.
Friday night kicked off with a live show from SA, as well as various local live bands which kept the feet stomping and partying right through.
A well turned out mass ride which left from the Station on Saturday morning set the pace for a full programme of biking activities, games and competitions with a prize for the best presented club being awarded to ‘Cowboys from Hell’.
According to Christo de Klerk (President Live to Ride) the attendance was fantastic and the camaraderie was amazing – in true biker style. He also confirmed that some of the proceedings of the event will be donated to a charity of their choice, as an ongoing pledge from the biking community to honour their social commitment.
