WINDHOEK- The Fu - Jazz Quartet is back tomorrow at Backstage Theatre following a successful show at Backstage last month with the quartet now becoming a regular feature at the venue.
On each third Saturday of the month, the six group members will present concerts in different formations and with different guest artists. Thus come tomorrow, the air in and around Suiderhof, where Backstage Theatre is situated (No 20 Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Street), will be filled with jazz and jazz-fusion grooves.
The ‘Fu - Jazz Quartet’ quartet consists, this time around, of Tayo Casinda on drums, John ‘Kali’ Casinda on keyboards, Piu ‘Nando Drumking’ on drums and Jacus Krige on Saxophone.
Thomas Jongebloed on trombone and tuba and Rolf Sprung on trumpet make guest appearances (amongst others). Expect anything from swing to be-bop, from cool jazz to fusion, from Dixie to afro-jazz.
Tickets cost N$ 50 and can be obtained in advance (call 0811242322) or at the door. Doors open 19h00 and the show starts 20h00.
