WINDHOEK – Managing partner of Deloitte Namibia, Junius Mungunda, has been promoted to the position of regional managing partner for the Deloitte southern corridor member firms, which operate in Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

“This aligns with the firm‘s continued aspiration to be an increasingly borderless firm in Africa and globally,” Deloitte said in a statement this week.

Mungunda will retain his current role in addition to helping Deloitte to distinguish itself in the southern corridor region by steering the firms in these countries to greater operational and financial integration.

Mungunda is a Chartered Accountant registered in Namibia and South Africa and has been with Deloitte for over 17 years.

After joining as a trainee accountant in 1996 in the Windhoek office, he served as an audit manager and then audit partner for 12 years, and was appointed managing partner of the Namibian firm on January 1, 2007.
