WINDHOEK – The Namibia Diamond Trading Company (NDTC) model search has produced four top models to model diamond - inspired jewelry designs for the Shining Light Awards catalogue.
Johanna Hifenua, Annuscha Husselmann , Justina Kavungo and Antonia Shinana, will be given the opportunity to represent Namibia by being part of the Shining Light international marketing campaign. This will see them featuring in the international Shining Light Awards catalogue, the Shining Light website and all other Shining Light marketing materials.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Namibian models to be featured on an international stage whilst wearing unique and exquisite diamond jewelry pieces designed by talented Namibian designers. This is also testament to the fact that NDTC is continuously striving to find innovative methods for the beneficiation process in the country”, says NDTC Chief Executive Officer, Shihaleni Ndjaba.
The search attracted 160 women ages 18 to 30 from various backgrounds during the one day casting last week.
“We are excited, especially knowing that we will get to represent our country. I’m happy that I did it.
It’s also good to note that the catalogue is going to go international and that will expose us to the world outside and that’s a good thing as it wont just be Africa but the rest of the world as well,” says Justina Kavungo.
Fellow model, Antonia Shinana, says the opportunity to model jewelry will open up many doors, especially with the international clients and adds that De Beers is a worldwide name and opportunities will be endless.
“This is really great because who knows we might end up in international magazines and at the same time be representing the country,” she concludes.
