ONE of Spain’s most decorated footballer, Andres Iniesta, tied the knot last weekend at Castillo de Tamarit, in Altafulla to his long-time girlfriend Ana Ortiz, who last year gave birth to their daughter Valeria.

The Uefa Euro 2012 heroes’ Spain and Barcelona teammates were among the 700 guests who turned out for the wedding. Barcelona’s popular footballer Lionel Messi also came with his four months pregnant girlfriend, while Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas and his beautiful journalist girlfriend Sara Carbonero were also among the guests.

According to a Spanish newspaper, former Barca coach and a potential candidate for coaching Russia, Pep Guardiola, did not attend the main ceremony, but joined the banquet at the Mas d’en Ros restaurant with his wife afterwards.

Dubbed the El Ilusionista (The Illusionist) by the Spanish press, because of his ability and willingness to play in any position on the pitch, has had a great run not only because of his achievements on the field but also because of his modesty and humility.

After wining the just-ended Uefa Euro 2012 with Spain, Iniesta was then voted Player of the Tournament for his inspirational performances. Not forgetting his goal that gave Spain its first World Cup win in the 2010 final against the Netherlands – SuperSport.com
