

WINDHOEK- First it was the capital of the Cattle Country, then followed the coastal towns of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, last Saturday it was the capital of the United Kingdom, London. And tonight Windhoekers get the chance to revel, cherish and relish in one go great sounds of Oviritje and African pop.
This is all happening tonight in the Katutura Community Hall in an musical extravaganza headlined but none other then one of Namibia’s foremost tenors , Mutjangatjike Ben Muunddjua and his band, Ovandu Vapaumba, and Namibia’s Africa pop diva, Uatungua, and as if the two are not enough to ensure for reveling party like none, One Blood join the parting fray. The artists are fresh from London in the United Kingdom where they on Saturday kicked up a storm. Doors open at six O’clock (18h00) and the show starts at eight O’clock. A single ticket goes for N$30.
Mutjangatjike has announced retirement from active singing,that is from live shows, promising his fans road shows to bid them farewell. Therefore, for his fans this a show not be missed as this may be last the time that they would see their favourite Oviritje singer in action.
Meantime, Ongoro Nomundu Manager, Seun Makono, promises coasters an “explosion” when the group features in the Kuisebmund Community Hall in Walvis Bay tomorrow night, together with Tura Horns and Equipped Dance Academy. “These bands will kill the stage,” Makono entices. Likewise Tura Horns Manager, Gotlob KaÞiko, says fans can only expect the best with the group even promising them a foretaste of the their next album when they would perform two of the songs from it at the show tomorrow. The album, which is due for release in November, is titled It’s Our Turn. Meanwhile the group has also revealed that the hot dancer Collin Hange, formerly with the group Onÿarata, has now joined it. The dancer is likened to such top Oviritje dancers in the league of Ticos, Ikuaso, Tjongile, Capitano and Tjinaakie, among others. “They are ready to cum rock the Coast and as you know it’s one of the upcoming groups destined to take Oviritje to the next level with their new dances moves,” KaÞiko pledges.
