

The engines are revving loud and long for the upcoming Standard Bank Namibia (SBN) Auto Show being which starts up the engines tomorrow from 6 to 7 July at the at the SKW Sportsfield, which promises a two-day bonanza of fun in the sun.
The popular Auto Show once again takes place in conjunction with the Biltong Fees– an event which last year attracted around 20 000 visitors, and this year even bigger and better things can be expected.
Riding on the back of last year’s success, this year the SBN Auto Show will offer special finance terms, as well as a two-day programme with a total of about 65 exhibitors - displaying from the smallest passenger vehicle to expensive cars and trucks.
At the official launch of the Auto Show, Mpumzi Pupuma(Standard Bank Chief Executive) said that an estimate of about 250 new vehicles, motor cycles and boats will be on display, as well as other auto accessory related companies will exhibit their merchandise. A number of side attractions will include amongst others a display of trucks and an ‘Old Wheelers Display’.
“ The objective of the show is to create a platform for selected dealers, suppliers and stakeholders in the market, to create awareness to interested potential buyers over a two day period in a secure and closed environment,” said Pupuma, adding.
“It is an opportunity provided to motor vehicle dealers to show off their products under one roof and since its inception in 2006, the show has grown immensely, becoming a popular event on the calendar of Motor Dealers as well as the public.
“Participation in the 2012 show holds a number of benefits for the exhibitors, in particular our special finance options of Prime less1.7%, which benefit both exhibitors and prospective buyers visiting their stands.
“With more motor exhibitors expected at the Auto Show this year, they also stand a chance to win cash prizes for the best stand,” he continued.
“This year we are expecting a total of about 65 exhibitors - displaying from the smallest passenger vehicle to expensive cars and trucks - giving prospective buyers a wide variety to choose from, with Bentley & Lamborghini coming on board for the first time.”
The official opening of the Standard Bank Auto Expo takes place at 9h00 on Friday 6 July with the gates opening to the public at 10h00.
