WINDHOEK – Black Africa and Brave Warriors acrobatic shot stopper, Arnold “Spider Net” Subeb, was overwhelmingly named FNB Namibia Black Africa Player of the Year at the club’s awards ceremony and became the recipient of N$20 000, in Windhoek last weekend.

“Hard work, dedication and commitment are words that FNB Namibia lives by - both in terms of banking and the support we give. If someone displays these qualities on an ongoing and consistent basis, they deserve to be acknowledged.

“We congratulate Arnold on his achievement and hope that he will remain true to the sport and himself for many years to come,” said Dawn Humphries, FNB Communications Manager.

FNB Namibia and Black Africa ran a SMS competition where the general public had the platform to vote for the player of the year. Subeb was one of five nominees by the club’s management and received the most votes from the public.

“I am delighted to be recognized for my efforts. I love soccer and hope to have many more playing years ahead of me. Thank you FNB for your unwavering support towards the game of football,” said the youthful net guard.
