RUNDU - Governor of the Kavango Region, Maurus Nekaro, last week on Thursday donated goods worth N$3 000 to an unemployed 31-year-old woman who gave birth to triplets at two health facilities last week.
Last month in a local daily, Lydia Mutunga appealed for assistance from good Samaritans to help her take care of her kids, since she and the children’s father are both unemployed.
Mutunga hails from Nkwizu village, about 170 kilometers south-west of Rundu.
Nekaro donated bags of maize meal, blankets, baby clothes, water buckets, washing bowls and random baby items.
The governor urged the couple to look for employment opportunities and not just sit at home waiting for donations.
The three babies were declared healthy at the Nankudu District Hospital upon their birth.
The trio have all been named after former chiefs of the Ukwangali Traditional Authority, namely, Mbandu Paulus Kudumo, Olavi Sivhute Kudumo and Joseph Kandjimi Kudumo.
