WINDHOEK â€" Namibia Breweries (NBL) this week awarded bursaries for the duration of four years to two young school leavers as part of its long-term plan to develop talents in the much sought after discipline of engineering.
Fillemon Simaneka Enkono received a bursary to study Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Namibia, while Diethelm Uwe Rust was awarded a bursary to study for a National Diploma (Mechatronics) at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa. Julia Muetudhana, Talent Manager at Namibia Breweries, says bursaries are awarded annually as part of NBL's strategic business plan to develop young talent in the discipline of engineering due to skills scarcity in the Namibian labour market. In doing so Namibia Breweries would develop engineers with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to fulfil the operational requirement of the business. "We are proud to award these bursaries and see ourselves as a social partner committed to invest in our country and its people, thereby also promoting our country's economic advancement both regionally and globally," said Muetudhana. Namibia Breweries has this year received 65 applications in total. The combined value of the bursaries is N$100 000 amounting to N$50 000 per recipient. Back to Top |
