WINDHOEK – Fans who missed the launch of the Ongoronomundu Concert Group’s DVD at the end of October have by no means lost out completely.
The DVD is available on the market at your favourite oviritje music outlets in the capital and countrywide at only N$160. These are Universal Sounds in the City, Zauana General Dealer (Ritunga) in Katutura in Windhoek, Young Ones (Swakopmund), Namib Radio (Walvis Bay), Wennie du Plessis (Gobabis) and Furniture Mat (Oshakati). If you want to spoil yourself or your loved ones to a real Christmas treat, then there can’t be any better treat the best songs by one of your favourite oviritje groups rolled into a single DVD. ‘Ahi-Ahi’, which coveted the best oviritje song category in the Sanlam/NBC Music Awards in 2006. Other songs on the DVD, titled ‘Ongoro Music DVD 2009’, are the group’s latest hit titled ‘Wanangue’ from the 2008 CD with same title. The song has been entered for this year’s Sanlam/NBC Music Awards. The DVD also features the hit song, ‘Onderera’, which also won the best oviritje song in the 2007 Sanlam/MBC Music Awards. It is from the CD, ‘Etjo Rozombande’. ‘Ombazu’, ‘Isana’, ‘Omatupa’, ‘Pasanapehe’, ‘Omundu’, ‘Eto’o Rorooso’ and ‘That Day’ by one the group’s most talented artists, Selle Tjikurame, of ‘Ahi-Ahi’ fame who reflects in the song on a car accident he had on October 22, 2007. In the DVD, which took the group about a year to produce with scenes from Okahandja and Windhoek, fans do not only have more than an hour of the group’s best hits but also get visually familiar with the stars behind the hits. Currently, the group has been on a promotional campaign around the country with the Otjiwarongo, Opuwo and Ruacana up next from this weekend. Running parallel with the campaign is an SMS campaign whereby those who SMS BOV 3 to this number: 7662 can go into a draw where the lucky ones can win a tracksuit, DVD player and a sheep. Also those who, between now and December 4 when the competition comes to an end, buy the DVD will also qualify for the draw. The draw is on December 6. By SMS-ing this code to the said number you are actually voting for your favourite group in the Sanlam/NBC Music Awards. Captions: (VISUAL: ONGORO COVER) (PICTURE: ONGORO) Back to Top |
