Even the prophets of doom, political opportunists and pundits all agree on the irrefutable fact that Swapo has always been and remains the sole multi-ethnic political home and ideology that genuinely embraces the larger Namibian population's interests and aspirations!
Indeed, our bona fide and time-tested unity in ethnic diversity and gallant historic striving towards a non-segregated (either by tribal origin, race, creed or any criteria whatsoever) and prosperous State are qualities unequalled by any 'political party' (if most even deserve such classification) on the local political landscape. An overwhelming majority of our adversaries can simply be summed up as disgruntled egoistic and/or tribalistic outfits and despots who bear their own interests above the nation's â€" seeking to exploit voters' democratic entitlement for self-centred political and subsequently, economic gain! We, as a nation, have come too far after oppression-imposed segregation (the vestiges of which still scar our society today) to regress into tribal and personality politics! Imagine the functionality of a National Assembly deliberately crafted along tribal and/or racial lines; the consequent tribal/racial upheavals and/or potential thereof as well as the resultant opportunity cost to the nation and developmental regression. It is therefore in light of the above that we would like to patriotically appeal to all progressive Namibians to vote wisely by electing Swapo Party and its President during the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections. Voting for Swapo is not only a moral imperative but similarly an obligation for all progressive Namibians to ensure continuity of our world-renowned developmental achievements and commitments to the populace. Chief amongst the above are: our stable, transparent and all-embracing democratic systems of governance â€" including virtually unequalled freedoms of speech, association and fundamental rights; our distinguished developmental achievements as reflected by the gradient of our national Human Development Index as well as our progressive and evolving futuristic developmental programmes such as NDPs and Vision 2030. In addition to the above, organs of the party such as the Swapo Party Youth League are aggressively pursuing various revenue-generation strategies geared towards realising the party's long-cherished dream of enabling free education and entrepreneurial development for all. A multitude of these programmes entail proposals and developments in the natural resources, commodities and property sectors. These are geared towards value-addition and local capacity-building in order to realise sustainable self-financing youth development initiatives with the view to produce the necessary critical mass of young entrepreneurs and professionals required to transform our economy and improve our living conditions. It is therefore in light of all the above that we implore the youth and future-oriented nationals to make their vote count towards these national aspirations. Indeed, there is no greater avenue to express our strongest collective aspirations and resolve to counteract contemporary tribalistic and egoistic anti-nationhood politics and propel our people and nation to greatness but to vote for Swapo Party today. Let your vote count â€" Viva Swapo and Viva Cde Pohamba! Back to Top |
